            <description><![CDATA[<p>We are expanding our Medical Bioethics program throughout Southern California over the next few years, and are in search of multiple Medical Bioethics Directors who will function as Clinical Ethicists. We currently have four positions available in Southern California:&nbsp; Baldwin Park, Fontana, Panorama City, and West Los Angeles.</p>

<p>In this role as a clinical ethicist, you will oversee the Meical Bioethics program for a specific medical center. You will be relied on to act as advisor and co-chair for the medical center’s Bioethics committee, which includes directing and expanding the Bioethics program through an integrated ethics approach. Key functions will include responding to individual and organizational cases and issues, conducting individual ethics case reviews and facilitating team consultations, analyzing and improving consultation methods and approaches, and reviewing policies and their development as it relates to patient rights and bioethics. You will also assure compliance with accreditation and agency standards pertaining to clinical ethics and patient rights, and provide advice, guidance, and education regarding end of life care to providers and staff. You will engage in quality improvement activities to reduce ethics quality gaps within the domains of end-of-life care; shared decision-making; the health care environment; and professionalism. Additional duties include working with health care providers at the bedside to provide high-quality and sensitive consultation to patients and their loved ones.</p>

            <description><![CDATA[<p>The Healthcare Ethics Fellowship at Bon Secours Virginia Health System is a clinical ethics immersion experience intended for doctoral students who are nearly entering or who are in the dissertation phase of their studies and interested in pursuing a career in healthcare ethics. This fellowship is intended to provide time for the Healthcare Ethics Fellow to work on his/her dissertation while at the same time gain practical experience in an applied ethics setting.&nbsp;This is a structured learning experience that will provide a broad-based educational and work experience in healthcare ethics.
