Institutional grants relating to issues in global health and development.

Canadian Institutes of Health Research

Targets biomedical, clinical, health systems and services, and population and public health research.

Greenwall Foundation Kornfeld Program in Bioethics and Patient Care

The Kornfeld Program in Bioethics and Patient Care, administered by The Greenwall Foundation on behalf of The Emily Davie and Joseph S. Kornfeld Foundation, focuses on ethical issues affecting the lives of patients on an individual level. Priority will be given to projects practical (rather than theoretical) with anticipated outcomes applicable at the patients' bedside.

National Institutes of Health

A obligatory starting point in any grant search.

National Science Foundation

Awards grants for research and education in the sciences, mathematics, and engineering.

NIH New Innovator Award Program

Supports a small number of new investigators of exceptional creativity who propose bold and highly innovative new research approaches that have the potential to produce a major impact on broad, important problems in biomedical and behavioral research.

Robert Wood Johnson Foundation

Currently funding proposals submitted in one of the following six program areas: health insurance coverage, building human capital, childhood obesity, pioneer, public health, quality/equality, and vulnerable populations.

Rockefeller Foundation

The Rockefeller Foundation seeks to fund proposals containing high-impact ideas that have the potential to make a difference in the lives of large numbers of poor or vulnerable people.

Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada

SSHRC supports university-based research and graduate training in the social sciences and humanities.

The Greenwall Foundation - Bioethics

Through its interdisciplinary program in bioethics, The Foundation provides funding for physicians, lawyers, philosophers, theologians and other professionals to address micro and macro issues in bioethics, providing guidance for those engaged in decision-making at the bedside as well as those responsible for shaping institutional and public policy.
